Boy Stopped Bus Out Of Control
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) WEST SPRINGFIELD (Massachusetts), Oct. 5. A 10-year-cld boy saved his school fellows from possible disaster when he stopped a school bus after pushing the dead driver away from the wheel. The driver, who was 70, collapsed and died at the wheel as he was driving 35 children to school yesterday, United Press International reported. The bus was approaching a. busy intersection at the time. Steven Bicker, sitting near the front of the bus, jumped from his seat and grabbed the steering wheel when he saw the driver slump over it. The boy pushed the dead man out of the way, braked the bus to a stop, and turned off the ignition.
