NO PICTURES OF N.Z.
U.S. Journalist’s Complaint (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. October 6. An American newspaper man arrived at Auckland today in the Monterey to sample New Zealand with a camera and a fishing line. He is Mr Charles Meyer, who is on assignment from the New York magazine “Sports and Field" to write a series of articles on trout and big gsme fishing. He will stay a month before going to Australia. "New Zealand is a fisherman’s and gunman’s heaven, but it misses out on a lot of free picture publicity in magazine articles," said Mr Meyer. It. was very difficult to get pictures about New Zealand to illustrate articles, he
Mid. He blamed this on lack of organisation. Until New Zealand was “well heard about” it would not get the flood of American tourists the country deserved.
