Cashmere To Have Clean-Up

At 8 o'clock this morning five trucks of the Heathcote County Council will start on a rubbish drive in the Cashmere area. By lunch time it is expected that all accumulated baekyaH rubbish which has been left at the kerbside for collection will have been loaded into the trucks with the assistance of residents.

The county engineer (Mr I. L. Hall) said the trucks would not take garden or household rubbish usually collected during the week, but would take anything the rubbish collectors do not

accept. “There is a limit, however, to what can be taken,” Mr Hall said yesterday. ‘We will have to draw the line at a traction engine.” A similar clean-up day will

be held in the Hillsborough and Heathcote valley areas on October 14.
