Mr Pearce Refuses To Play (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 3. The chairman of the Auckland Rugby Union (Mr T. H Pearce) declined today to play in a charity Rugby match next Sunday after learning he would play against the former Wellington League player, G. Dryden. The match is in aid of the Auckland Boystown Gymnasium public appeal. "I'm having nothing to do with it,” Mr Pearce said. ‘‘The union's rule is quite specific: no Rugby player can have anything to do with Northern Rugby Union (League) players or administrators.” | ■ The match is between the press, radio and television team and former prominent players and coaches. Mr Pearce said the union’s management committee would “have to have a look” at the question at its meeting tomorrow night. Other former Auckland Rugby representatives included in publicity for the game are E. Boggs, F. Allen. B. Fitzpatrick, P. Hall, P. Tetzlaff and K. Davies. The former All Black, K. Skin-i ner, is also named. i
