Standing Committee Membership
An increase in the membership of the standing comnlittee of the diocese was the subject of a bill which received its first reading at a session of the Synod of the Diocese of Christchurch yesterday afternoon. The membership of the standing committee is governed by a statute whici came into effect in 1891. The increase is for two more clerical and two more lay members, making a total of 12 in each case. The Bishop and the diocesan registrar also attend meetings.
