Stock Firms’ Merger
Sir,—Hie stock firms’ merger is certainly of great concern to me as I am still interested in farming although I no longer take an active part in it. I am not a Communaart, as no member of the Labour Party can be one under the N.Z.LJP.'s constitution. Pertwps “DisiHusioued Former Labour Supporter” can tell me how I can be called a Communist when I believe in God. I don’t advocate expropriation pf the fanners’ land as under Marxism. ;'t seems that this COr-responde-nt does not . know the difference between socialism and communism, and
therefore I shall define them, if he would lake me to do so. I would like him to tell me how producer and co-operative mariseting ' and distribution is State-con-trolled, as is, the case under communism. Are the feraehs Communists because they have collective forme? Perhaps he may even regard the Lancashire cb-operatives with suspicion because they are not run by chain stores. Does he approve of eo-operative dairy companies? Yours, etc., DISILLUSIONED NATIONALIST. September 30,1961.
