(NJt. Press Aim.—CopuriaM) LONDON, October 1 A report by the air correspondent of the “Daily Sketch” said that Britain was negotiating a £lO million contract for the supply of British jet airliners to the Chinese People’s Republic.
"It seems certain that the order will be confirmed in the next few weeks,” the correspondent said. The offer was for at least 20 civil • airliners—“virtually a complete replacement fleet to meet President Mao Tsetung’s plans to expand domestic services, the "Daily Sketch’’ report said. It added that this would be the first time that a nonsatellite Communist country had bought civil aircraft from the West and that until now China had always gone to Russia for its civil planes
