Shortage Worries Traders
(NX Press Association) INVERCARGILL Oct 9. The Shortage in New Zealand of chain-driven tricycles is worrying the New Zealand Cycle Trades Federation. At its annual meeting held in Invercargill at the weekend delegates decided that an approach to the Government should be made to see if the position could be relieved. Delegates were told that one New Zealand company was making chain-driven tricycles but because of the many ramification* of its product it produced insufficient numbers to meet the New Zealand demand. ' The federation will appeal to the Government to remove the present sales tax on tricycles. It claims that, like the bicycle, the tricycle la a mode of transport and -no sales tax should be charged. Mr R. R. Kiddey, of Christchurch. was elected president of the federation,
