Operation In December
"The Press’* Special Service DUNEDIN, Oct 2.
The new air services for Gisborne and Dunedin should be in operation by December 18, said Captain R. D. Daniell, general manager of South Pacific Airlines of New Zealand.
Calls would be made at Gisborne on the service between Hamilton and Napier, and at Dunedin between Oamaru and Alexandra, he said.
Preliminary work had started on an aerodrome at Taupo and it was hoped that calls would be made there within six months.
To meet the expansion of the company fleet to five airliners, it was planned to increase the flight crew to 35 by December. The third Viewmaster aircraft is due in New Zealand on October 18 and will go into service that week.
