Hawker Hunter Offered

October 1, while New Zealand uses outdated Vampire fighter aircraft because it cannot afford anything better., Auckland has been offered a Hawker Hunter supersonic jet fighter for only £3500. The offer has been made by Hawker-Siddeley to a society proposing to build a museum of transport and technology at Western Springs. The fighter is only four or five years old and is being replaced in the Royal Air Force by later aircraft. The company said it could crate the aircraft, which is in flying order, and freight it out to New Zealand for another £2400.
