Fishing Launch Driven Ashore
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. July 16. A 37ft game fishing launch, the Sonar Mia, valued at about £BOOO. and owned by Mr A. J. Harnish, of New Plymouth, broke its mooring chain at Port Taranaki today, and was driven on to Ngamotu beach by heavy seas. Later in the afternoon, when the tide had gone out, a mobile crane lifted the eight-ton stranded craft on to a trailer, which brought it to safeity. The craft suffered no visible damage, said Mr Harnish this evening.
