180 Believed Dead (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) BMAPUR (South India), July 15 The death roll in floods ravaging South India rose above 180 yesterday with the news of the death of 50 persons in a ferry boat disaster. District officials said that the ferry capsized while crossing the swollen river Khrishna, about 60 miles from Bijapur. No further details are available, as communications are disrupted by the floods. Elsewhere, at least 130 deaths and property damage running into hundreds of millions of rupees are reported from five Indian States hit by the worst floods in recent years. Most damage was reported from the Indian States of Kerala, Mysore and Maharashtra, with the city of Poona worst hit.
