YOUTH’S CALL FOR HELP
Collapse In ’Phone Box (N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 18. After his car had plunged into the Te Henui river. New Plymouth, and he had been flung through the windscreen into the river, an injured youth staggered a quarter of a mile to a telephone booth, called the police, and then collapsed, shortly after 5 a.m. today. The youth, Graeme William Sanger, aged 20, of MJain South road, Osnata, was just able to dial the recentlyinstalled emergency number 111, for which no money is needed, before he collapsed. He was admitted to the New Plymouth Hospital suffering from facial injuries. His condition this evening was reported as satisfactory. Although Mr Sanger’s car turned completely over in the accident, it landed in the river on its wheels. It was not damaged badly.
