AMBERLEY GARDEN CLUB
Good Attendance At Annual Meeting The third annual meeting of the Amberley Garden Club was held recently with a good attendance. The competitions for the year resulted as follows: Quality, Mrs G. Stevenson I, Mrs Hiatt and Mrs J. Courage (equal) 2; decorative, Mrs S. Hyland 1, Mrs J. Courage and Mrs G. Stevenson (equal) 2. For most points gained during the. year, the rose bowl trophy was presented to Mrs G. Stevenson by Mrs F. Courage. Mr J. H. Glazebrook acted as chairman for the annual meeting, after which he gave an interesting address illustrated with coloured slides on winter flowering shrubs. During a discussion on club membership it was stated that more men would be welcomed as members of the club. A fruit tree pruning demonstration has been arranged for the July meeting. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patrons. Mrs F. Courage and Miss M. Bristow; president, Mrs J. Courage: vice - presidents. Mesdarrres D. S. Gardiner and Harty; secretary, Mrs C. A. Reeve: treasurer. Mrs S. Hvland; stewards, Mesdames Gould, Coulbeck and McEwan: committee. Mesdames A. Lundy, Mears and R. Croft.
