“Quite Severe Depression” (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 22. Many students were not going to find jobs in the coming (northern) summer vacation in Canada because the country was going through quite a severe depression, Professor W. J. McDougall. of Ottawa University, said today. Professor McDougall, who will spend four months in New Zealand, mostly with ’he faculty of commerce at Victoria University of Wellington, is professor of accountancy in Ottawa. He said that, as in the United States, a large number of students in Canadian universities helped pay for their university fees’ by working during vacations. In addition to teaching at Victoria University. Professor McDougall. will attend seminars conducted by the New Zealand Society of Accountants in Hamilton. Hastings. New Plymouth. Tirnaru and Invercargill during the August vacation.
