Life-Saving THACKER SHIELD
Rangiora High School Wins By less than one point, a team from the Rangiora High School won the girls’ life-saving competition for the Monica Thacker Shield, conducted in the Centenial Pool on Saturday by the Canterbury branch of the Royal Life-Saving Society. The Rangiora team scored 235 Points, compared with 234.22 points scored by a team from Cashmere High School, which was placed second. Christchurch Girls High School was third with 233.75 points. Christchurch Boys' High School won the Sir John Hall Shield for the boys' life-saving competition, also held at the Centennial Pool on Saturday The team scored 216.5 points compared with Christchurch West High. School’s 208.5 in second place. Christ’s College was third with 199.87 points.
