Customs Cadets’ Course
Customs Department cadets who have recently joined the department will gather in Christchurch today from all over the South Island to begin a staff induction course. Sixteen cadets from Dunedin. Oamaru and Invercargill, as well as Christchurch, will be instructed in relations with the public, their rights as officers, and public service welfare and privileges under the tutelage of the department's staff training officer (Mr P. Fligg>. of Wellington. Avonside P.T.A. Officers Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Avonside Girls' High School ParentTeacher Association were:— President. Rev. A. W. Baxter: vice-preeidenta. Mrs F. H. Diehl and Mr R. A P. Cox; secretary, Mr N. C. R. Skilton: treasurer. Mr H. Beattie: committee. Mrs F. F. Cowper. Mrs K. L. Manson and Messrs H. C. Pruden. J. McLean. C. H. Yeatman and O. L. Huggins; staff representatives. Mrs J. Clifford and M's L. Kerbers: auditor, Mr R. E. Coleboume.
