Street Sealing

Sir, —I support Frank S Pyne’s letter. I should like to inqui-e if the City Council has any intention of filling in the huge pot-holes on the Breezes road approach to South Brighton When filled with storm water these young craters, some of which are in the centre of the road, are a menace to motor-vehicles and cycles. Two tyres and tubes ruined in less than a year is my grim experience.—Yours, etc., SOUTH SHORE. February 7, 1961. IThe Town Clerk (Mr H. S. Feast) replies: “Repair work has been carried out on this section of Breezes road within the last few days. Owing to the high ground-water level this is a very difficult road to maintain, but it is anticipated than an incidental result of the extensive works being carried out •by the Christchurch Drainage Board on the adjoining land, will ultimately have a very beneficial effect as far as groundwater levels are concerned.”!
