“Miss Canterbury” Title
The Christchurch branch of the Plunket Society will issue invitations to women between the ages of 18 and 27 to compete for the - title of “Miss Canterbury” in the 1961 “Miss New Zealand” contest, the president of the branch (Mrs A. Rose), said in Christchurch yesterday. Accommodation would be provided in Christchurch by the Plunket Society for any country girl who qualified for the semi-finals to be held in the city early in April, Mrs Rose said. The finals will be held in Dunedin on June 5. Entry forms for the “Miss Canterbury” title may be obtained from the Christchurch Plunket Rooms, at 221 .Oxford terrace, after Monday, February 13.
