H. J. Talbot, of Ongaonga. with his jumper Gilbert, ridden by Miss Susan Talbot, won the puissance competition with four clear rounds at the annual show in the Hawke’s Bay north area of the New Zealand Horse Society in Hastings today. Major results, with riders in parenthesis, are:
Dressage.—Miss M. Beamish’s Mascot (owner). Hastings, 85 points, 1; Miss P. Kelly’s Jaffa (Joan Kelly). Hawke’s Bay, 69. 2; Mrs A. T. White’s Yes Please (Joan Kelly). Otane. 66.5, 3. Combined Training Test—H. J. Talbot’s Limonite (Susan Talbot), Ongaonga, 93, 1; Mrs J. R. McKenzie’s Akbar (owner), Hastings. 91.5, 2: Mrs A. M. Fraser’s Rambler (H. H. Morice), Gisborne, 85.5, 3. Hit And Hurry.—Miss P. Laird’s Blaze (owner), Hunterville, 1: Miss Judith Simmons’s View Hallo 'owner), Hastings. 2; R. R. Matthews’s Pharaoh (owner), Gisborne. 3. Puissance. —H. J.
