Kuhnke, entered the quarterfinals of the Australian tennis championships at Kooyong today when he beat the fourth seeded Australian player, B. Hewitt, in the third round of the men’s singles. Kuhnke won 6-1, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 in a match played near century heat The British player, M. Sangster, had a third-round win over the Australian Davis Cup squad player, R. Mark, who announced last night he was leaving for South Africa at the week-end, Sangster also entered the quarter-finals. Sangster’s quarter - final opponent will be F. Stolle, of Sydney. The top seed, R. Laver, of Queensland, was granted a postponement of his thirdround match because of a sprained left wrist. Laver suffered the injury when he fell in a match yesterday.
