HEROIC ACTION BREAKS RECORD

Heroic Action became Australia’s top contender for the Inter-Dominion Championship at Christchurch next month with a record breaking win 11 the special Invitation Race (about 12 furlongs) at the Melbourne Show Grounds on Saturday night Last Tuesday Heroic Action equalled the track record of 2min 6sec to win the Christmas Free-for-all. On Saturday night he broke this record with a mile rate of 2min 5 4-ssec. Three Aces is likely to be the only South Australian representative at the Inter-Dominion Championships. Mr G. Jones, who races Kevejay, said after the horse had finished third to John Leslie and Romantic Robert in Adelaide on Saturday night that he would not be sent to New Zealand. Kevejay’s present form was not good enough, he said. The form Moon Raider, the other South Australian representative, was not encouraging on Saturday or at its two previous races this season.
