Two-Month Drop Halted For the first time in two months, weekly quotations for New Zealand lamb at Smithfield this week did not show a decline on the previous week’s. The Meat Board reports that there was an improvement in trading at Smithfield. There was stronger inquiry for reduced pitchings of New Zealand meat; prices were steady, with increasing interest in lightweights. / There was a slow trade in light offerings of New Zealand mutton, the board says. Wethers were lid to 16d per lb and ewes 9d to 13d. There was a firm tone in quotations for heavyweight ewes. New Zealand f.a.q. frozen ox hinds were 21|d to 22d per lb. Prices for New Zealand meat, ex hooks Smithfield, in the week ended December 9, with the variation since the previous week, are quoted as follows:
