TATTERSFIELD YEAR

Record Sales Of £700,000 "The Press" Special Service - AUCKLAND, December 8. Sales of Tattersfield, Ltd., and its subsidiary, Tattersfleld Brinton Carpets, Ltd., reached a record £700,090 in the year ended September 19, said the chairman (Mr J. W. Tattersfleld) at the annual meeting yesterday. The rate of carpet production was lifted by 80 per cent. Four looms and two broadlooms supplied by Brintons, Ltd., of Kidderminster, had been erected during the year. Mr Tattersfleld said that the profit of the company would have been higher had it not been for certain non-recurring expenses by the carpet company and the rebuilding operations by the parent company which had caused some chaotic conditions during the winter. Workers From Overseas ’ The increase in expenses of management was due to the fact that this item included the cost of bringing 10 families from overseas on behalf of the carpet company, he said. Sales for the first two months of the current year were above' those during the comparable period of 1959, and if business continued at its present level, the year should be satisfactory, said Mr Tattersfield.
