£54 13s A Bale For Auckland Wool
(New Zealand Press Association) AUKCLAND, December 8. The average price of wool at the first main sale of the Auckland selling season, on November 10, was 2id per lb lower this season than at the corresponding sale last year and 1.39 d per lb lower than the average rate for the closing sale in May this year. With 32.599 bales offered, of which 32,555 were sold at an average of £54 12s 8d (£5B 10s 8d last year), the November sale brought growers gross proceeds of £1,762,232 against £2.957,294 for the May sale and £1,963,875 for the November sale last year.
