WOMAN, SON DEAD
Hospital Grounds Bodies Found In
(Neto Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 20.
The partly-hidden body of a woman patient in the Kingseat Hospital who had been strangled was found in a plantation in the grounds of the hospital about 3 p.m. on Saturday. A patient bad earlier found the unconscious body of the woman’s son on a road fringing the plantation, about 200 yards away. The man died to an ambulance taking him to Auckland Hospital. - The two dead were Mrs Mabel Laura Norton, aged 69. who entered Kingseat in 1954 and James Clifford Kauri Norton, aged 29. married with one child of Avondale.
An inquest into the death of Mrs Norton was opened before the Pukekohe Coroner (Mr F. H. Hewitt) this afternoon. It was ■ adjourned sine die after Dr. H. R. Bennett, assistant medical superintendent of the hospital, had given evidence of identification. An inquest into Mr Norton’s death will be opened before Mr A. Addison, the Auckland Coroner, tomorrow morning.
