PSYCHE LEADS IDLE ALONGS
Frostply Title Taken By Minstral
Only three boats sailed for this year’s Idle Along championship when the event was held by the Waimakariri Club at Kairaki at the week-end. The veteran yachtsman, C. F. Dann, of the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club, w’on the event with Psyche. D. Mclntosh’s Gwen-a-lyn, the Stewart’s Gully entry, was second. R. Scott’s Minstral headed the Frostplys home in the championship race for this class yesterday afternoon. K. Taylor, in Virgo, was second, and L. Watson’s Tiki wai fourth. The fifth placing went to Lysta <R. Brewer). There were six starters.
A P-class race, which attracted only 10 entries, was won by B. Oborn’s Echo. G. Grant was second in Bubbles, and R. Wingfield's Wimpy was third.
