USE OF LIGHT AIRCRAFT
Increase In United States The expansion of the light aircraft industry in the United States impressed Mr C. H. Brazier, managing director of Airwork (New Zealand), Ltd., who has just returned from a business trip to America. Mr Brazier said yesterday that light aircraft last year flew three times the flying hours recorded by all the domestic airlines in the United States. Businessmen were finding a small aircraft very suitable for quick trips, and now many firms owned an aircraft and had a pilot on its staff. Because of this expansion in the use of light aircraft many large cities provided satellite airfields which were almost solely used bv smaller aircraft. “In a city the size of Christchurch there would be one main airfield used by the airlines and two or three smaller airfields Used by private aircraft.” Mr Brazier said.
