CRICKET N.Z. Team Will Play 24 Games In &A.
New Zealand’s cricket tour of South Africa, which will begin in October of next year, will be considerably more demanding than the 1953-54 tour. In all, 24 matches will be played, compared with 17 on the previous tour. Matches may also be played in Australia after the tour, or on the way to South Africa.
The 1961-62 tour will begin in Rhodesia, instead of in the south, and it seems to be designed to eliminate unnecessary travelling. The New Zealand team will have one distinct advantage over its predecessor in that it will have seven first-class and four secondclass games before the first Test Last time' there were five firstclass matches and one second-class game before the first game.
