NEW CONSTITUTION FOR MALTA
Proposed Commission Rejected (A.Z. Press Association—Copyright; VALETTA (Malta), July 28. Malta’s Labour Party executive today rejected the proposed commission to work out a new constitution for 'the island, American Associated Press reported. The party executive said the decision of the Colonial Secretary (Mr lain Macleod) to set up the commission- only hardened the party’s resolve to raise the question of Malta in the United Nations, with the help of “friendly nations'.” The Labour Party would only recognise the right for the Maltese themselves to write their own constitution.
