Rise In Retail Meat Prices
(Blew Zealand Press Association I WELLINGTON, July 28. The monthly amending price order gazetted this afternoon varies some maximum retail meat prices, to take into account seasonal changes in wholesale meat prices during July. The new maximum prices will have effect from next Monday. The Trade Practices and Prices Division of the Department of Industries and Commerce says that the effect of the amendments on the main current maximum retail meat prices is as follows in Marlborough, Nelson, Westland and Canterbury:— Beef, first grade: Id per lb increase. Hogget: 3d per lb increase. Lamb: 2d per lb increase. Mutton, first grade: 3d per lb increase. Pork: No change.
