Missionary Leaving. Sister Gladys Larkin, of Christchurch, has left for the Solomon Islands to do medical missionary work there. Townswomen’s Guild: The sixth anniversary of the Papanui Townswomen’s Guild was celebrated at a social afternoon. Mrs A. J. Sharp presided and welcomed the guests, among whom were the president of the Christchurch Area Federation of Townswomen’s Guilds (Mrs F. Pheloung); the area federation secretary (Mrs A. Thomson); the area federation treasurer (Mrs F. Sanger); the Dominion secretary (Mrs R. H. Smith) and a member of the Dominion executive (Mrs C. Ironside). The singing circle of the Papanui guild presented two brackets of songs and members of the drama circle entertained with sketches. The birthday cake was cut by Mrs Pheloung. Tribute To Mr A. E. Kincaid.— A tribute was paid to the late Mr A. E. Kincaid, former chairman of the executive of the North Canterbury centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, by the president (Mrs R. I. Brake) at the annual meeting of the centre. Mr Kincaid, who gave a lifetime of service to the society, would always be remembered for the wisdom and impartiality of his opinions, and for his deep devotion to Red Cross, said Mrs Brake.
