The results of matches ending on Friday in the county cricket championsnip were:— At Cardiff: Glamorgan 210 and one for 64 beat Northamptonshire 140 and 130 (M. Norman 61), by nine wickets. At Worcester: Worcestershire 279 and one for 80, beat Sussex 197 and 141 (G. Howland 59; J. Flavell five for 35) by nine wickets. At Lord’s: Middlesex 126 and four for 265 declared (P. Parfitt 100 not out, F. Titmus 68 not out) v. Essex 215—-abandoned. At Maidstone: Somerset 238 and three for 200 (R. Virgin 89, A. Baig 66 not out) drew with Kent 200 and two for 80. At Bradford: Yorkshire 282, drew with Hampshire 113. At Nottingham: Lancashire 323 and two for 41, beat Nottinghamshire 175 and 188, by eight wickets. At the Oval: Derbyshire 148 and six for 195 declared (I. Buxton 49 not out) v. Surrey 83 and none for 87 (J. Edrich 48 not out) —abandoned. At Birmingham: Warwickshire seven for 333 declared and six for 146 declared, drew with Gloucestershire 293 and none for 52.
