COST OF S.A. TOUR
About £7OOO Spent - By Union (New Zealand Preu Association) WELLINGTON, July 22. To date the South African tour has cost the New Zealand Rugby Union about £7OOO. the chairman (Mr C. S. Hogg) told the council , of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union today. The total tour • costs would be reduced by the receipts from the match, All Blacks versus The Rest, on the tourists’ return. The total cost of the trials, assembling and outfitting the team and other requirements amounted to £10,393. This sum was reduced by £4236, the receipts from the trial Mr Hogg said the cost of the Maori team's tour of Tonga and Samoa would be at least £4OOO.
