“POISON NOT FATAL DOSE”
Inquest On Pilot Adjourned
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 22.
Evidence of a police pathologist was heard by the Auckland coroner, Mr A. Addison, when the inquest into the death of. Michael William Grierson-Jackson, aged 39, helicopter pilot, was continued today. The pathologist, Dr. D. J. A. Doyle, said he did not consider the quantity of cyanide in the dead man’s stomach represented a fatal 'dose. “In my opinion the post mortem appearances were consistent with death from hemorrhage and shock following an operation which could have been performed by the deceased himself,” said Dr. Doyle. Death must have occurred on or about May 4. The inquest was adjourned. In spite of a widespread police search, which has' since, extended overseas, no trace has yet been found of Mr Grierson-Jackson’s wife, Cynthia, who was last seen a few days before her husband’s body was found behind the locked door of a room in a house in Park avenue, Grafton.
