GLOBEMASTER LEAVES

The United States Air Force Globemaster which arrived in Christchurch on Sunday left Harewood on return to South Carolina at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. On board the aeroplane was Lieutenant-Commander J, E. Lynch, who was the only commissioned naval officer in the small party which is spending the winter at the United States base at Harewood. He is expected to return to Christchurch next month. Lieutenant-Commander R. E. Cross, assistant chief of staff and communications officer to RearAdmiral D. Tyree, who arrived on the Globemaster, will remain in Christchurch for about two weeks.
