Bermuda Socks
Sir, —An article in this morning’s paper on the wearing of Bermuda socks as part of a school uniform prompts me to say that in at least one school in North Canterbury grey woollen knee-length socks have been a part of the winter uniform for several years. This is the Hawarden District High School, and I noted how; very smart and serviceable the: uniform looked. There are no I darned (or holey) knees, and no need for the girls to wear that abomination—a suspender belt.— Yours, etc.. COMFORT AND NEATNESS. June 16, 1960.
