ROADSIDE STALLS
Health Act Coverage Sought
The bringing under the provision of the Health Act of all shops handling food for human consumption, in particular fruit and vegetable shops, was urged by the Counties’ Association yesterday. The suggested amendment by Hutt council, it was explained, would particularly affect roadside shops selling fruit and vegetables. They should be controlled, it was contended, to protect the public.
Roadside stalls were in effect shops and were without handwashing facilities, said Mr R. C. Miles.
