Croquet Redcliffs Wins Pennant Grade
In the Inter-club croquet shield competition Redcliffs won the final of the pennant grade, and United won the final of the C grade. Results:— PENNANT GRADE Redcliffs v. St. James Doubles.—Mrs T. A. Searell and T. A. Searell beat Mesdames G. Donaldson and W. Archbold, 26-4; H. Nettleton and Mrs H. Nettleton lost to Mesdames J. Read and H. Maher. 18-22: Mesdames F. C. Carter and C. J. Pomeroy beat Mesdames W. Joy and C. Rowe. 26-10. Singles.—Mrs Searell beat Mrs Donaldson. 21-20; T. A. Searell beat Mrs Archbold, 26-15; H. Nettleton beat Mrs Read, 16-15; Mrs Nettleton lost to Mrs Maher, 5-10; Mrs Carter beat Mrs Joy, 26-3; Mrs Pomeroy beat Mrs Rowe, 26-21. Total: Redcliffs 7. St. James 2. C Grade.—United beat Fendalton by 5 games to 4.
