Duncan Sandys Divorced
(N.Z. Preu Association—Copyright > LONDON, April 8. Mr Duncan Sandys, Minister of Aviation, was granted a decree nisi in the Divorce Court today on the ground of desertion since November, 1956, by his wife. Diana, the eldest daughter of Sir Winston Churchill. Mrs Sandys did not contest the suit. Judge Duveen said: “It is a perfectly clear case of desertion.” Mr and Mrs Sandys have a son aged 23 and two daughters, aged 21 and 16.
Illegible Signatures Banned. — Doctors in Stockholm must now use rubber-stamps under their signatures on Health Insurance receipts and prescriptions, or repeat -the name in block capitals. As from the beginning of this year, the Stockholm Health Insurance Fund refuses to accept, and pay its members for, receipts with illegible signatures. The new rule has been made to stop frauds with falsified receipts, as scrawled and illegible signatures are more difficult to detect if falsified. Falsifications are said to have become more and more frequent, particularly by drug addicts.
