Australian Newsprint.—Mr R. A. Henderson has been elected chairman of Australian Newsprint Mills Holdings, Ltd., and Australian Newsprint Mills, Ltd. Mr Henderson, who is managing-director of John Fairfax, Ltd., succeeds the late Mr H D Giddy, chairman of The Herald and Weekly Times, Ltd., of Melbourne, who died last December.
Maple Furnishing—The Maple Furnishing Companies, Ltd., Auckland has reduced the ordinary dividend for the year ended March 31 from 12 per cent, to 11 per cent., after the recent one-for-five cash and bonus issues. Shares will be marked ex dividend to the final ordinary payment of 6 per cent, on April 22. A steady final preference dividend of 2J per cent, has also been declared, shares becoming ex dividend on May 12,
