COMMERCIAL Weeks Shares Rise 1/6 In Four Weeks
Weeks shares, last traded locally at 45s on March 11, had business in Christchurch yesterday at 46s 6d. Sales were made last year at 28s 6d to 40s. Other gains by N.Z. domiciled shares were made by South British Insurance, Hay’s, N.Z. Forest, and Ross and Glendining. Southland Cement and Silknit changed hands at lower prices.
Australian shares were mainly firmer, headed by B.H.P. Ampol, Ansett, A.C.1., and Reid Murray also recorded gains. Cox Bros, and Woolworths declined fractionally.
