Polo Morrinsville Wins Savile Cup
(New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON, March 26. The Morrinsville polo team won the Savile Cup from Kihikihi on Saturday by the narrow margin of 4 goals to 3. The Claudelands showgrounds had been cut up by tournament play during the week, but in spite of the uneveh nature of the ground, it was one of the finest finals seem for years. Morrinsville has now won the trophy six times since 1947 and Kihikihi has won it five. The score at half-time was 2-2. but the winners went to the lead early in the second half and increased it to 4-2 in the fifth chukka. In the last match of their New Zealand visit the Santa Barbara team played a light-hearted game against Taupiri as a curtain raiser to the cup match and lost 4 goals to 2.
