DRIVER FOR SIBELIA
M. Adams “Certain”
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, January 20.
The New South Wales Trotting Club committeeman, Mr R. Allot, said last night that he was “certain” that top driver M. Adams would drive Sibelia in the Inter-Dominion Championship. Mr Allot’s wife owns Sibelia.
Adams trains and drives Sibelia and Southern Van—two of the best-performed pacers in the championship; which will begin at Harold Park, Sydney, on Saturday week. They are equal favourites behind Caduceus. Adams says he Is not certain which horse he will drive if they both qualify for the final. Mr Allot said he had no doubts that Adams would drive Sibelia, and had not bothered to consider engaging another driver.
Caduceus has had his first track work since arriving yesterday from New Zealand. He jogged a few circuits of Harold Park with S. Aggett as his driver.
Caduceus will have his final Inter-Dominion trial in the second heat of the Free-for-all at Harold Park on Friday night. His opponents will include Sibelia, Diabolo Don, Fettle and Apmat.
