Obituary MR J. A. FINLAYSON

AUCKLAND, January 19.
Mr John Alexander Finlayson, of Laings Beach, Waipu, a former member of the Legislative Council, has died, aged 69. Mr Finlayson was a former president of the New Zealand Rugby Union and was for seven years president of the North Auckland Rugby Union. Born at Maungaturoto, Mr Finlayson was for many years a member of the North Auckland Power Board.
He was keenly interested in education and was chairman of the Mangapai school committee for seven years. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
