He said: “Our conscience is clear We have done our best tor them—raising their living and education standards. World criticism on this policy is most unfair. Most people who criticise us never care to find out the real situation.”
Mr Germishuizen was commenting on a statement made by Dato Onn Bin Jaffar, leader of an Opposition party in the Malayan Parliament, that Malaya should sever trade relations with South Africa as a sterner protest against the apartheid policy. Dato Onn told the Parliament yesterday: “Imports from South Africa to Malaya,- and our export to that country, should be completely stopped to show them that we don’t like their apartheid policy.”
