Presentation To Boys’ High School (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, December 2. The success of R. B. Thomson, who graduated last year top of the Royal Air Force Apprentices’ School at Halton, will be marked next Tuesday at the Christchurch Boys’ High School, when the school will be presented with a specially leather-bound textbook. The presentation will be made by the air liaison officer at the office of the United Kingdom High Commissioner in New Zealand (Group Captain R. Dutton), on .behalf of the Air Ministry. Also present will be the Chief of the Air Staff (Air Vice-Marshal M. F. Calder), who is an old boy of the school, and the Director of Recruiting (Squadron Leader W. Ward). ' At the conclusion of the course, Thomson was a flight sergeant apprentice. He won the commandant’s prize for the most outstanding apprentice, and commanded the graduation parade, whjch was attended by the Act-ing-High Commissioner for New Zealand (Mr G. R. Laking). He is a son of the late Mr E. A. E. Thomson, formerly station officer of the St. Albans Fire Station. His elder brother. Pilot Officer A. E. Thomson, R.N.Z.A.F., also graduated top o fthe apprentices’ school at Halton, and won a cadetship to Cranwell.
