JUNIOR TEAMS SELECTED
Zone Matches For Shields Six boys and six girls have been selected for the Canterbury Slazenger and Howe Shield tennis teams fr this seasn. They are:— Boys.—B. R. Judge, L. J. Walpole, D. Scotland, L. Watkins, G. Freear, V. Price. Girls.—L. Mardon, R. Jones, K. Williams, B. Blackburn, J. Hatch, D. Corich. The boys’ team will play its first matches at Nelson tomorrow and Friday to find the zone winner to play in the semi-finals in Wellington in January. Other teams in the zone are West Coast, Nelson, and Marlborough. Walpole is not available to travel to Nelson but he is in the team for the selection for later matches. ’ Th girls’ team will play Its first matches in Christchurch on the Friday of next week-end when zone contests will be among the same teams as in the boys’ zone.
