PRIVATE SALE OF WOOL IN W.A.
Albany 9 s February Date Cancelled (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) PERTH, Dec. 1. Private wool selling has caused the cancellation of the Albany wool sale scheduled for February, the West Australian Wool and Producers Brokers’ Association announced today. The amount of wool expected will not be enough for a February sale, and the final Albany sale for the season will be held in January. Originally brokers planned to hold four sales of about 15,000 to 20,000 bales each at Albany during the current season. It has been estimated that almost 130,000 bales of the 500,000bale West Australian wool clip could be sold privately this year. Brokers are seriously concerned about the increasing tendency for farmers to sell their wool direct to buyers who come on to their property.
