New Australian Wins Title
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, December 1. The former Hungarian, Steve Raduly, won the Australian heavy-weight championship at Sydney Stadium last night, when he knocked out Alan Williams in the third round. Raduly had Williams powerless when the referee stopped the fight 40 seconds after the start of the third round. Williams was defending the title for the nineteenth time. Last night he was no match for the younger, fitter, and harderpunching Raduly. He landed only one right during the fight and his lefts carried little sting. In contrast, Raduly’s left was rarely out of Williams’s face. As the bell rang at the end of the second round he sent Williams down in his corner, but there was no count.
